Oktoberfest: The World’s Biggest Beer Festival
Free · open it in the app and customise every day.
From mid-September to the first Sunday of October, Munich hosts Oktoberfest — the world's largest folk festival, drawing six million people to the Theresienwiese for giant beer tents, brass bands, roast chicken and fairground rides.
The plan
Explore lovely Munich — Marienplatz, the palaces, the beer halls — and spend a day (or two) inside the festival tents.
Good to know
Reserve a tent table months ahead, embrace the dirndl and lederhosen, and pace yourself: the festival beer is stronger than it tastes. Weekdays are far less crowded than weekends.
