Base in Madikeri, wander a working coffee plantation, chase Abbey Falls, and meet the elephants at Dubare. Don't skip the serene Golden Temple at Kushalnagar.

It's an easy road trip, best October to March once the monsoon eases. Carry a light rain layer whatever the month, and buy your coffee straight from an estate.
